A late season passage through Lake Huron en route to Chicago
Cutting a lonely sight. The only yacht in the harbour at Presque Isle, Lake Huron on a grey blustery September day. The season seems to end early here.
Fine autumn sailing conditions on Lake Huron. Close reaching up towards the Straits of Maclinac, the most northerly point of our trip this year.
We are in the "Windy City" - but not the one we had hoped to be in by this time (Chicago). But the poster isn't lying - we have been stormbound here in Mackinaw City for the last 5 days with not one forecast in which the words "25-30 knot winds" did not feature!!
Storm clouds gathering over Mackinaw again - we're going nowhere for at least another 24 hours!
Does everyone else around here know something we don't? Not one other boat in the marina but all parked ashore for the winter!
